Potentiometric multisensor system of anion-selective electrodes based on ionic liquids

Abstract

The possibility to use solid-state and liquid PVC-membrane electrodes based on ionic liquids for creation of potentiometric multisensor system was assessed. Ionic liquids with 1,3-dihexadecylimidazolium cation and chloride, bromide, iodide and nitrate anions were used. Cross-sensitivity parameters of the sensors have been determined. Multisensor array has been applied to the determination the chloride and iodide anions in a multicomponent mixture. Discrimination of mineral waters of various compositions using the developed system was carried out by applying the method of principal component analysis.
Key words: Ionic liquids, solid-state ion-selective electrodes, multisensor system.
