Modeling of dissolution of chromium (III) and copper oxides in an acidic environment

Abstract

An experimental study was made of the dissolution of chromium(III) and copper oxides in acidic media. Based on experimental studies of the effect of acids, pH and the concentration of anions on the dissolution rate of oxides, the nature of the limiting stage is determined, which consists in the formation of surface compounds (depending on the pH value): and their subsequent transition to electrolyte solution.
Key words: chromium(III) oxide, copper oxide, dissolution kinetics, dissolution mechanism, dissolution process.
