Complex research on composition and
microstructure of historical glasses
Abstract
A novel method of determining lead
concentration in glasses by portable X-ray fluorescence Analyzer was developed
and applied to the analysis of smalts manufactured by Mikhail Lomonosov at his
factory in Ust’-Ruditsa. Complex research on microstructure and composition of
glasses was carried out. XRF method as a new approach to study of historical
glasses was described.
