Methods of preparing high performance stationary phases for anion-exchange chromatography

Abstract

Development of novel high performance anion-exchange stationary phases is one of the priority tasks of modern ion chromatography (IC). Most of the studies in this field are aimed at improving selectivity of anion-exchangers and also at increasing sensitivity, efficiency, and rapidity of analysis. Since selectivity of stationary phases considerably depends on their surface chemistry, understanding the connection between the structure of anion-exchange layer and chromatographic properties of anion-exchanger is very important. This review is devoted to the methods of polymer-based substrates modification for obtaining high performance anion-exchangers for the separation of inorganic and organic anions.
Key words: polymer-based anion exchangers, ion chromatography, synthesis, determination of anions.
