Studying the kinetics of sorption on peat ions of iron (III) and copper (II) from wastewater

Abstract

The sorption’s kinetics on peat of copper(II) ions and iron(III) from model solutions are studied. Sorption process takes place quickly and almost complete after 20 minutes. Based on the processing of the experimental absorption curves of the equations of chemical kinetics and diffusion found that the sorption process is in the diffusion mode. Contribute to the overall speed of the process also makes the chemical interaction of metal ions stage with functional groups peat. The efficiency of the sorption process is defined. Use of peat as a sorbent for purification of waste water from the copper(II) ions and iron(III) at industrial sites is possibility.
Key words: sorption, ions of heavy metal, peat, process kinetics.
