Stabilization by polycation of LysK the enzyme lysing staphylococcus aureus cells

Abstract

Influence of polycation (polybrene) on activity and stability of LysK – the enzyme lysing Staphylococcus aureus cells was investigated. As found, polybrene caused 10–80 times increase of LysK stability at 37°C. Stabilizing effect depended on a number of point interactions of oppositively charged groups of the enzyme and polycation.
