Mathematical modeling of sorption preconcentration in flow analysis systems

Abstract

Description of the whole sorption preconcentration step was proposed based on a system of equations comprising equations of mass balance, external diffusion mass transfer and equilibrium distribution of analyte. Description of sorption step allows to calculate analyte distribution across the column length. This distribution can be used as an initial condition for describing desorption step. A scheme for numerical calculations was developed using Comsol software. A scheme for iteration search of model parameters was proposed, based on minimization of difference between experimental and calculated curves, was proposed. A procedure for evaluating confidence intervals of model physicochemical parameters based on dispersion of experimental data was proposed.
