Rapid determination of strontium-90 in seawater

Abstract

It was shown, that preconcentration of 90Y from seawater by Y2O3, YF3, LaF3 and CeF3 is possible. YF3 is the best of all from this viewpoint, because it don’t adsorbs the radioisotopes of Pb (II) and Th (IV). The interference of 210Bi can be eliminated by preconcentration its on PbS. Measurements of 90Y by Cherenkov radiation without its elution from column was suggested.
