Calculation
of phase diagrams of the Ln – Ba (Ln – Gd, Pr, Nd, Sm) systems
Abstract
On the base of published data of thermodynamic properties
and phase equilibria in rare earth metal – barium systems a thermodynamic model
of liquid was suggested. Phase diagrams of the Ln–Ba (Ln=Gd, Pr, Nd, Sm)
systems were calculated. The interaction parameter of Gd1–xBax “regular” melt
was estimated in assumption of proportionality between energies of liquid Ln
and Ba interparticle interactions and rare earth element radii.
