Photochemical dissociation of the 2,2,5,5-tetramethyl-4-phenyl-3-imidazoline -1-oxide

Abstract

The photochemical dissociation of the 2,2,5,5-tetramethyl-4-phenyl-3-imidazoline -1-oxide was investigated in solution and in solid matrixes. It was found out that elimination of the nitrogen oxide is occurred during the reaction. Quantum yield is equal to ~0,2 at 298 K and ~0.001 at 77 K. Reaction kinetics in solid matrixes is stepped.
