Gas chromatography study of properties of the surface of fluorocarbon

Abstract

The properties of the surface of fluorocarbon as well as their changing under different conditions were studied by means of Gas Chromatography and Static Adsorption methods. The retention volumes, relative retention volumes, KovŠ±tz indices, heats and entropies of adsorption for a wide series of test compounds including n-alkanes, oxygen-, halogen- and nitrogen-containing compounds were determined. It was revealed that fluorocarbon possesses sufficient chemo- and thermo-stability, highly hydrophobic, chemically homogeneous and non-polar surface.
