Stability and Catalytic Properties of Glucose Oxidase from Penicillium Funiculosum g-15

Abstract

Glucose oxidase was extracted from a newly isolated strain Penicillium funiculosum G-15. The enzyme is stable to metal ions except Cu2+and Zn2+ at 25°C and pH 6,0. It is highly specific for D-glucose (Km 3.3 mM) and keeps the optimal activity in the wide range of temperatures and pH values.Mediator activity of ruthenium complexes in the catalysis of GO from P. funiculosum G-15 were compared with this activity relative to the enzyme from Aspergillus niger.
