Solubility and Kinetics of the Ozone Decomposition in Aqueous Solutions of Sulfuric aned Phosphoric Acids

Abstract

Solubility of ozone has been measured in aqueous solutions of sulfuric and phosphoric acids at room temperature. It has been found that the rate constant of ozone decomposition increases significantly in sufficiently concentrated acid solutions. This phenomenon is explained assuming the formation of protonated ozone.
