Catalysis of Allyl-like Chloroolefin Reactions by Nanosized Iron Oxides

Abstract

Nanosized particles of iron oxides (Fe2O3, FeO, Fe3O4) catalyze reactions with allyl chloroolefin participation, in particular isomerization with double bond and chlorine atom migration and aromatic hydrocarbon alkylation. Catalysis efficiency and reaction direction depend on the oxygen presence. The other factors determining catalytic properties of oxides are the iron oxidation state and the nature of the nearest surrounding of nanoparticles.
