Physico-Chemical and Catalytic Properties of Nanocrystalline Heterogeneous Catalysts Pd(Rh)/ZrO2(TiO2) Prepared in Sub- and Supercritical Water

Abstract

Physical, chemical and catalytic properties of the nanocrystalline supported catalysts of the composition Pd(Rh)/ZrO2(TiO2) prepared using sub- and supercritical water are investigated. All the materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis, BET surface area measurements, transmission electron microscopy, elemental analysis for C/H/N, differential thermal analysis. The active metal content on the surface of the catalysts was also determined. Catalytic activity of Pd(Rh)/ZrO2(TiO2) catalysts was investigated in a flow rector on the example of CO oxidation reaction. It is shown, that catalysts prepared in sub- and supercritical water exhibit new interesting properties compared to the materials synthesized by traditional techniques.
