On the Correlation beteen The Acid-Base and Red-Ox Functions of Zeolite Catalysts

Abstract

Dehydration of methyl alcohol over bifunctional zeolite catalysts modified by transition metals (Cu, Ni and Co) present as exchangeable ions, metallocomplexes or oxides is enhanced when it occurs in an oxidative media (air) rather than in a neutral one (nitrogen). The effect is explained in the frame of dual-site mechanism of methanol converaion.
