Electron-Probe X-Ray Microanalysis of the Electrochemically Modified Surfaces of Solid Disc Electrodes

Abstract

The technique of electron-probe X-ray microanalysis of surfaces of solid disc electrodes with different radii electrochemically modified during metal and alloy deposition was developed. This technique allows to study an element distribution along electrode surface and to estimate its total content. The efficiency of proposed technique was tested during state diagnostics of glass-ceramic carbon electrode surfaces after electrodeposition of copper, cadmium and lead from aqueous solutions under different conditions. The results of X-ray microanalysis were shown correlating to the conclusions of theoretic electrochemistry.
